I cannot take any credit for this recipe, Zach made it a few days ago and I’ve been thinking about it since. I told him the basics of what I wanted in a smoothie, ie almond milk, spinach, banana, etc and he went from there. It was awesome. Breastfeeding is a marathon sport some days and eating for myself can be a challenge. As soon as I sit down for a meal someone else is hungry too!
Smoothies are not only a great one handed meal they are an awesome way to get some greens into my diet. Zach read somewhere that eating leafy greens helps the body deal with sleep deprivation. I don’t know if it is true but we’ve been eating loads of them just in case. The benefits don’t just stop there of course because eating healthy is always a good idea.
This is not a “New Year New You!” type of smoothie and I’m certainly not trying to lose weight over here. I am trying to fuel my body for these crazy ass days/nights so that I can properly take care of this adorable creature my body created (baffles me still!). Easier said than done of course. Lots of googling going on over here and I’ve never been more appreciative of our friends, family, and Amazon Prime.
