Hello friends! Did you have a nice weekend?
This past weekend I went to NYC with my friend Greg to visit our friend Ellen and her baby.
I had read that eating GF was pretty easy in NYC and I just wanted to eat my fill. After we arrived and checked into our hotel we walked to S’Mac a restaurant I had read about that serves ONLY Mac and Cheese! Um yeah we had to go there since they serve GF Pasta!!!
I got the Parissiene Mac with brie, figs, rosemary, and shittake mushrooms. It was decadent. Actually I could only eat half of it, it was pretty rich and the serving size was larger than I expected. Totally delicious and I would come back here in a heartbeat.
After lunch we went to the Cloisters, a museum that specializes in Medieval European Art. The architecture and the gardens were my favorite part.
Afterwards we were ready to finally see that baby! He is absolutely adorable and even though I was timid I got to held him, feed him, and then we feel asleep in my arms. Super cool!
Walking around Manhattan we saw lots of signs for Gluten Free options. It seems totally possible to go almost anywhere and get a great meal. For dinner we went to M noodle shop and even though it was not “gluten free” they made me a special bowl of soup sans soy sauce and with rice noodles. I actually had to double check to make sure it was totally soy sauce free because it tasted SO good!
