As you may know I LOVE going out to eat. Since I make 95% of my own food occasionally letting someone else do the work is such a treat. When we were in Pennsylvania last month for our friends’ wedding we had lunch at a place in such a cute part of town. I’m kicking myself for not taking pictures of the town West Chester. There was this old town vibe to it with tons of cute looking shops I wished we had time to stop in. We went to a restaurant called Iron Hill Brewery which boasted a gluten free menu. I feel greedy saying I wished the menu was better but I do. Everyone else in the party got these amazing sounding dishes (mac and cheese and any brunch item) and I REALLY wanted to have those items on my menu too.
On the gluten free menu they offered salads and burgers with gluten free buns. So yeah I’m greedy, I wanted to eat delicious brunch but I did enjoy my gigantic pulled pork sandwich avec gluten free bun. But it is nice to know there are options.
Next up we went to Paladar: Latin Kitchen and Rum Bar. This location is pretty close to where I work and Zach being a HUGE rum fan I periodically drove past to see if they were open. To my delight their gluten free menu was extensive!
I ordered the Sweet Potato Tacos because they sounded incredible. They were gluten free and vegetarian and though good I don’t think I would reorder them. The sweet potatoes were sweet and had cinnamon on them which I couldn’t wrap my head around with cabbage and tomatillo salsa. Everything was scrumptious and I am looking forward to returning. There are so many options!
What is your favorite restaurant? Are the gluten free options plentiful?
