Last week was Zach’s 30th birthday! We drove to Virginia Beach to celebrate and escape winter, sadly winter was still with us but we did have a nice time. We haven’t been to Virginia Beach in 5 years! Since before we were married, so we were excited to check it out. Luckily for me there is a breakfast joint that has loads of gluten free options.
So many options I couldn’t make a choice, I was literally overwhelmed by the idea of being able to order SO MUCH. Usually my breakfast choices when dining out are some sort of egg dish but Sunnyside has Pancakes, Waffles, French Toast, and Breakfast Sandwiches.
Now you understand my dilemma. The rare burden of choice. Luckily our waiter was sympathetic and knowledgable. I explained the issue and he was able to recommend the waffles. He felt the pancakes were too dense and the french toast wasn’t nearly as good as the waffles. I cannot even remember the last time I had a waffle. Eight years ago?? Longer? I don’t know.
Y’all this waffle was crispy and delicious and never stood a chance. Even though I had half a Quest Bar before our long walk to the restaurant I devoured this beauty. I got a blueberry waffle without sugar, because I already felt like such a glutton. Whipped cream and butter? Yes pleaaaaaaaasssseeee.
I would return to Sunnyside in a heartbeat. Zach’s breakfast sandwich made me envious too. So many options, so little time.
